Broward County has welcomed an upscale hotel chain to one of its transportation hubs.

Aloft Hotels by Marriott at Fort Lauderdale Airport held a grand opening event on Jan. 24, the hotel confirmed.

Located at 501 SE 24th St., the 14-floor hotel was originally slated to open in November 2023, but the property opened to the public on Dec. 11, 2023, a spokesperson for the hotel told South Florida Business Journal.

“There is so much to do in the Fort Lauderdale area,” Aloft General Manager James Lalanne said. “This property offers a location ideally accessible to airline and cruise passengers, guests enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Fort Lauderdale, and those in town for major sporting and entertainment events at DRV PNK Stadium and the iconic Hard Rock Stadium.”

The airport hotel offers 138 guest rooms with five room types that range from 294 to 475 square feet, according Aloft Hotels.

Hotel amenities include a meeting room and business center, a cabana-equipped rooftop pool deck, a 540-square-foot pool, a firepit, a 800-square-foot fitness studio, a yoga terrace, a gaming area and laundry facilities. The 5,000-square-foot lobby includes a bar, an outdoor terrace and a grab-and-go branded breakfast bar called Re:fuel by Aloft.

Fort Lauderdale-based Adache Group Architects designed the 100,000-square-foot property, which is connected to a 99-space surface-level parking lot.

“We are excited to complete construction on Aloft Hotel in Fort Lauderdale,” Daniel Adache, CEO of Adache Group Architects, said. “Business is booming in the City of Fort Lauderdale, individuals come from around the world to experience the beaches, culture, and food, this property will be an appealing hotel for business and leisure travel visitors coming to South Florida.”

Fort Lauderdale receives more than 13 million visitors each year, according to city statistics.

Aloft Hotels by Marriott at Fort Lauderdale Airport is managed by Green Park Management, a hotel management and hospitality company based in Boynton Beach. 

The hotel is less than two miles from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center and Port Everglades.

Aloft Hotels is a subsidiary of Marriott International, Inc. (Nasdaq: MAR), a Maryland-based multinational hospitality company that operates, franchises and licenses hotels.

Marriott brands Aloft Hotels as a contemporary accommodation that caters “to a tech-savvy, music-loving crowd.” The company operates more than 200 Aloft locations in 29 countries and territories. 

Miami International Airport welcomed an Aloft Hotel in February 2017, according to Marriott.
